2017-10-31drm/TODO: Clarify DRM_DEV_* conversionDaniel Vetter
Not everyone agrees this is the best thing, so make it really clear that maintainers need to be asked first, then the conversion. We've had a few newbies that did this the other way round, got their patches rejected, which isn't the best newbie experience. 2017-10-17drm/sun4i: Add support for A20 display pipeline componentsJonathan Liu
The A20 display pipeline has 2 frontends, 2 backends, and 2 TCONs. This patch adds support (or a compatible string in the frontend's case) for these components. The TCONs support directly outputting to CPU/RGB/LVDS LCD panels, or it can output to HDMI via an on-chip HDMI controller, or CVBS/YPbPr/VGA signals via on-chip TV encoders. These additional encoders are not covered in this patch. 2017-10-17drm/sun4i: hdmi: Support HDMI controller on A10Chen-Yu Tsai
The HDMI controller in the A10 SoC is the same as the one currently supported in the A10s. It has slightly different setup parameters. 2017-10-06drm/bridge: add Silicon Image SiI9234 driverMaciej Purski
SiI9234 transmitter converts eTMDS/HDMI signal to MHL 1.0. It is controlled via I2C bus. Its interaction with other devices in video pipeline is performed mainly on HW level. The only interaction it does on device driver level is filtering-out unsupported video modes, it exposes drm_bridge interface to perform this operation. Use integers (reg property) to tell the number of the LED to the driver instead of the node name. 2017-09-19ipv6: fix net.ipv6.conf.all interface DAD handlersMatteo Croce
Currently, writing into net.ipv6.conf.all.{accept_dad,use_optimistic,optimistic_dad} has no effect. Fix handling of these flags by: - using the maximum of global and per-interface values for the accept_dad flag. That is, if at least one of the two values is non-zero, enable DAD on the interface. If at least one value is set to 2, enable DAD and disable IPv6 operation on the interface if MAC-based link-local address was found - using the logical OR of global and per-interface values for the optimistic_dad flag. If at least one of them is set to one, optimistic duplicate address detection (RFC 4429) is enabled on the interface - using the logical OR of global and per-interface values for the use_optimistic flag. If at least one of them is set to one, optimistic addresses won't be marked as deprecated during source address selection on the interface. While at it, as we're modifying the prototype for ipv6_use_optimistic_addr(), drop inline, and let the compiler decide. 2017-09-19drm: handle override and firmware EDID at drm_do_get_edid() levelJani Nikula
Handle debugfs override edid and firmware edid at the low level to transparently and completely replace the real edid. Previously, we practically only used the modes from the override EDID, and none of the other data, such as audio parameters. This change also prevents actual EDID reads when the EDID is to be overridden, but retains the DDC probe. This is useful if the reason for preferring override EDID are problems with reading the data, or corruption of the data. Move firmware EDID loading from helper to core, as the functionality moves to lower level as well. This will result in a change of module parameter from drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware to drm.edid_firmware, which arguably makes more sense anyway. Some future work remains related to override and firmware EDID validation. Like before, no validation is done for override EDID. The firmware EDID is validated separately in the loader. Some unification and deduplication would be in order, to validate all of them at the drm_do_get_edid() level, like "real" EDIDs. v2: move firmware loading to core v3: rebase, commit message refresh Cc: Abdiel Janulgue <abdiel.janulgue@linux.intel.com> Cc: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Cc: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Tested-by: Abdiel Janulgue <abdiel.janulgue@linux.intel.com> Reviewed-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Acked-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/1e8a710bcac46e5136c1a7b430074893c81f364a.1505203831.git.jani.nikula@intel.com
