2022-12-02drm/amdgpu: MCBP based on DRM scheduler (v9)Jiadong.Zhu
Trigger Mid-Command Buffer Preemption according to the priority of the software rings and the hw fence signalling condition. The muxer saves the locations of the indirect buffer frames from the software ring together with the fence sequence number in its fifo queue, and pops out those records when the fences are signalled. The locations are used to resubmit packages in preemption scenarios by coping the chunks from the software ring. v2: Update comment style. v3: Fix conflict caused by previous modifications. v4: Remove unnecessary prints. v5: Fix corner cases for resubmission cases. v6: Refactor functions for resubmission, calling fence_process in irq handler. v7: Solve conflict for removing amdgpu_sw_ring.c. v8: Add time threshold to judge if preemption request is needed. v9: Correct comment spelling. 2022-12-02drm/amdgpu: Introduce gfx software ring (v9)Jiadong.Zhu
The software ring is created to support priority context while there is only one hardware queue for gfx. Every software ring has its fence driver and could be used as an ordinary ring for the GPU scheduler. Multiple software rings are bound to a real ring with the ring muxer. The packages committed on the software ring are copied to the real ring. v2: Use array to store software ring entry. v3: Remove unnecessary prints. v4: Remove amdgpu_ring_sw_init/fini functions, using gtt for sw ring buffer for later dma copy optimization. v5: Allocate ring entry dynamically in the muxer. v6: Update comments for the ring muxer. v7: Modify for function naming. v8: Combine software ring functions into amdgpu_ring_mux.c v9: Use kernel-doc comment on the get_rptr function. 2022-06-28drm/amdgpu: Prevent race between late signaled fences and GPU reset.Andrey Grodzovsky
Problem: After we start handling timed out jobs we assume there fences won't be signaled but we cannot be sure and sometimes they fire late. We need to prevent concurrent accesses to fence array from amdgpu_fence_driver_clear_job_fences during GPU reset and amdgpu_fence_process from a late EOP interrupt. 2021-08-16drm/amd/amdgpu embed hw_fence into amdgpu_jobJack Zhang
Why: Previously hw fence is alloced separately with job. It caused historical lifetime issues and corner cases. The ideal situation is to take fence to manage both job and fence's lifetime, and simplify the design of gpu-scheduler. How: We propose to embed hw_fence into amdgpu_job. 1. We cover the normal job submission by this method. 2. For ib_test, and submit without a parent job keep the legacy way to create a hw fence separately. v2: use AMDGPU_FENCE_FLAG_EMBED_IN_JOB_BIT to show that the fence is embedded in a job. v3: remove redundant variable ring in amdgpu_job v4: add tdr sequence support for this feature. 2021-02-09drm/amdgpu: add wave limit functionality for gfx8,9Nirmoy Das
Wave limiting can be use to load balance high priority compute jobs along with gfx jobs. When enabled, this will reserve ~75% of waves for compute jobs. We do not need this from gfx10 onwards because >=gfx10 has asynchronous compute tunneling to replace wave limit requirement. 2020-08-18drm/scheduler: Scheduler priority fixes (v2)Luben Tuikov
Remove DRM_SCHED_PRIORITY_LOW, as it was used in only one place. Rename and separate by a line DRM_SCHED_PRIORITY_MAX to DRM_SCHED_PRIORITY_COUNT as it represents a (total) count of said priorities and it is used as such in loops throughout the code. (0-based indexing is the the count number.) Remove redundant word HIGH in priority names, and rename *KERNEL* to *HIGH*, as it really means that, high. v2: Add back KERNEL and remove SW and HW, in lieu of a single HIGH between NORMAL and KERNEL. 2020-04-28drm/amdgpu: Fix per-IB secure flag GFX hangHuang Rui
Since commit "Move to a per-IB secure flag (TMZ)", we've been seeing hangs in GFX. We need to send FRAME CONTROL stop/start back-to-back, every time we flip the TMZ flag. That is, when we transition from TMZ to non-TMZ we have to send a stop with TMZ followed by a start with non-TMZ, and similarly for transitioning from non-TMZ into TMZ. This patch implements this, thus fixing the GFX hang. v1 -> v2: As suggested by Luben, and accept part of implemetation from this patch: - Put "secure" closed to the loop and use optimization - Change "secure" to bool again, and move "secure == -1" out of loop. v3: Small fixes/optimizations.
