2023-10-05drm/dp: switch drm_dp_downstream_*() helpers to struct drm_edidJani Nikula

2023-10-04drm/i915: Introduce for_each_shared_dpll()Ville Syrjälä
No one really cares how we store the shared_dplls. Currently it happens to be an array, but we could change that to a more flexible scheme at some point. Hide the implementation details behind an iterator macro. The slight downside is the pll variable moving out of the loop scope, but maybe someday soon we'll start to convert everything over to having declarations within for-statements... 2023-10-04drm/i915: Stop requiring PLL index == PLL IDVille Syrjälä
There's no good reason to keep around this PLL index == PLL ID footgun. Get rid of it. Both i915->shared_dplls[] and state->shared_dpll[] are indexed by the same thing now, which is just the index we get at initialization from dpll_mgr->dpll_info[]. 2023-04-03drm/i915/dsc: Add debugfs entry to validate DSC output formatsSwati Sharma
DSC_Output_Format_Sink_Support entry is added to i915_dsc_fec_support_show to depict if sink supports DSC output formats (RGB/YCbCr420/YCbCr444). Also, new debugfs entry is created to enforce output format. This is required because of our driver policy. For ex. if a mode is supported in both RGB and YCbCr420 output formats by the sink, our policy is to try RGB first and fall back to YCbCr420, if mode cannot be shown using RGB. So, to test other output formats like YCbCr420 or YCbCr444, we need a debugfs entry (force_dsc_output_format) to force this output format. v2: -Func name changed to intel_output_format_name() (Jani N) -Return forced o/p format from intel_dp_output_format() (Jani N) v3: -output_format_str[] to remain static (Jani N) Signed-off-by: Swati Sharma <swati2.sharma@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Uma Shankar <uma.shankar@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Uma Shankar <uma.shankar@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20230309062855.393087-8-suraj.kandpal@intel.com

2023-02-10drm/i915: Replace wm.max_levels with wm.num_levels and use it everywhereVille Syrjälä
Replaces wm.max_level with wm.num_levels, since that generally results in nicer looking code (for-loops can be in standard form etc.). Also get rid of the two different wrappers we have for this (ilk_wm_max_level() and intel_wm_num_levels()). They don't really do anything for us other than potentially slow things down if the compiler actually emits the function calls every time (num_planes*num_wm_levels*higher_level_wm_function_calls could be a big number). The watermark code already shows up far too prominently in cpu profiles. 2022-11-11drm/i915: stop including i915_irq.h from i915_trace.hJani Nikula

Since i915_trace.h doesn't actually need i915_irq.h, makes sense to drop it, but that requires adding quite a few new includes all over the place. Prefer including i915_reg.h where needed instead of adding another implicit include, because eventually we'll want to split up i915_reg.h and only include the specific registers at each place. Move display watermark related members under drm_i915_private display sub-struct. It's a bit arbitrary when to define a named struct for grouping, but clearly intel_wm is big enough to warrant a separate definition. 2022-05-23drm/i915/display/debug: Expose crtc current bpc via debugfsBhanuprakash Modem
This new debugfs will expose the currently using bpc by crtc. It is very useful for verifying whether we enter the correct output color depth from IGT. This patch will also add the connector's max supported bpc to "i915_display_info" debugfs. 2022-03-21drm/i915: Tweak plane ddb allocation trackingVille Syrjälä
Let's store the plane allocation in a manner which more closely matches how the hw operates. That is, we store the packed/CbCr ddb in one struct, and the Y ddb in another. Currently we're storing packed/Y in one struct, CbCr in the other. This also works pretty well for icl+ where the UV plane is the main plane and the Y plane is subservient to it. Although in this case we do not even use ddb_y as we do the ddb allocation in terms of hw planes. v2: Rebase Reviewed-by: Stanislav Lisovskiy <stanislav.lisovskiy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220303191207.27931-2-ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com

2022-03-15drm/i915: Stash DRRS state under intel_crtcVille Syrjälä
Ger rid of one more ugly crtc->config usage by storing the DRRS state under intel_crtc. intel_drrs_enable() copies what it needs from the crtc state, after which DRRS can be blissfully ignorant of anything going on around it.
