2014-12-05ixgbe: Add X550 support function pointersDon Skidmore
This patch extends the function pointer structure to include the new X550 class MAC types. This creates a new file ixgbe_x550.c that contains all of the new methods. Because of similarities to the X540 part in some cases we just use it's methods where they can be used without any modification. These exported functions are now defined in the new ixgbe_x540.h file. 2014-12-05ixgbe: cleanup checksum to allow error resultsDon Skidmore
Currently the shared code checksum calculation function only returns a u16 and cannot return an error code. Unfortunately a variety of errors can happen that completely prevent the calculation of a checksum. So, change the function return value from a u16 to an s32 and return a negative value on error, or the positive checksum value when there is no error. 2014-12-05ixgbe: Add x550 SW/FW semaphore supportDon Skidmore
The X550 hardware will use more bits in the mask, so change the prototypes to match. This larger mask will require changes in callers which use the higher bits. Likewise since X550 will use different semaphore mask values and will use the lan_id value. So save these values in the ixgbe_phy_info struct. 2014-07-25ixgbe: Make return values more directMark Rustad
Make return values more direct, eliminating some gotos and otherwise unneeded conditionals. This also eliminates some local variables. Also a few minor cleanups in affected code so checkpatch won't complain. 2014-07-25ixgbe: Delete a bunch of dead codeMark Rustad
All of the code involved with returning the supported physical layer is actually unused, so delete it. Signed-off-by: Mark Rustad <mark.d.rustad@intel.com> Tested-by: Phil Schmitt <phillip.j.schmitt@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2014-07-25ixgbe: Correct X540 semaphore errorMark Rustad
In the function ixgbe_get_swfw_sync_semaphore, an incorrect check was treating success as failure and vice-versa. This led to manipulating the IXGBE_SWFW_SYNC register without holding the software semaphore first, which is an error. In addition, if getting the REGSMP bit in the IXGBE_SW_FW_SYNC register timed out, no error code would be returned, making the caller think that it had successfully acquired the lock. Fix both of those issues and clean up the function a bit, such as make the name in the comment match the function. 2014-07-25ixgbe: Fix spurious release of semaphore in EEPROM accessMark Rustad
Failure to acquire the semaphore would lead to a spurious release of the semaphore in several functions. Do not release a semaphore that you did not get. 2014-05-23ixgbe: fix several concatenated strings to single lineJacob Keller
This patch fixes various log strings that are split over multiple lines in the ixgbe driver. This cleans up checkpatch.pl warnings, and makes it easier to search the code for warning strings displayed to the kernel log. 2014-03-20ixgbe: Stop cacheing if the MNG FW enabledDon Skidmore

2014-03-12ixgbe: add Linux NICS mailing list to contact infoJacob Keller

2014-02-28ixgbe: collect all 82599 AUTOC code in one functionDon Skidmore
When reading or writing to the AUTOC register on 82599 devices we need to preform various operations that aren't needed for other MAC types. This patch will collect all of that code into one place to minimize MAC checks in common code paths. While doing this I also clean up some cases where we weren't holding the SW/FW semaphore during a read/modify/write of AUTOC. 2013-04-17ixgbe: fix MNG FW support when adapter not upDon Skidmore
We were only turning the laser on when the adapter was up. This causes issues for those who wanted to access the MNG FW while the port was in a down state. This patch makes sure the laser is turned on in probe and remain up even after the port is brought down. 2012-07-19ixgbe: Correctly set SAN MAC RAR pool to default pool of PFAlexander Duyck
This change corrects an issue in which an FCoE enabled adapter was always setting the FCoE SAN MAC MPSAR register to 0x1. This results in the first VF being assigned the SAN MAC address in the case of SR-IOV and as such is incorrect. To resolve this I am adding a new function that will update the SAN MAC pool address after reset. 2012-03-14ixgbe: Fix race condition where RX buffer could become corrupted.Atita Shirwaikar
There was a race condition in the reset path where the RX buffer could become corrupted during Fdir configuration. This is due to a HW bug.The fix right now is to lock the buffer while we do the fdir configuration.Since we were using similar workaround for another bug, I moved the existing code to a function and reused it.HW team also recommended that IXGBE_MAX_SECRX_POLL value be changed from 30 to 40.The erratum for this bug will be published in the next release 82599 Spec Update Signed-off-by: Atita Shirwaikar <atita.shirwaikar@intel.com> Acked-by: Peter P Waskiewicz Jr <peter.p.waskiewicz.jr@intel.com> Tested-by: Stephen Ko <stephen.s.ko@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
