Pull s390 updates from Alexander Gordeev:
- Store AP Query Configuration Information in a static buffer

- Add a per-channel-path binary "ext_measurement" sysfs attribute that
provides access to extended channel-path measurement data
- Export measurement data for all channel-measurement-groups (CMG), not
only for a specific ones. This enables support of new CMG data
formats in userspace without the need for kernel changes
- Add a per-channel-path sysfs attribute "speed_bps" that provides the
operating speed in bits per second or 0 if the operating speed is not
available
- The CIO tracepoint subchannel-type field "st" is incorrectly set to
the value of subchannel-enabled SCHIB "ena" field. Fix that
- Do not forcefully limit vmemmap starting address to MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS
- Consider the maximum physical address available to a DCSS segment
(512GB) when memory layout is set up
- Simplify the virtual memory layout setup by reducing the size of
identity mapping vs vmemmap overlap
- Swap vmalloc and Lowcore/Real Memory Copy areas in virtual memory.
This will allow to place the kernel image next to kernel modules
- Move everyting KASLR related from <asm/setup.h> to <asm/page.h>
- Put virtual memory layout information into a structure to improve
code generation
- Currently __kaslr_offset is the kernel offset in both physical and
virtual memory spaces. Uncouple these offsets to allow uncoupling of
the addresses spaces
- Currently the identity mapping base address is implicit and is always
set to zero. Make it explicit by putting into __identity_base
persistent boot variable and use it in proper context
- Introduce .amode31 section start and end macros AMODE31_START and
AMODE31_END
- Introduce OS_INFO entries that do not reference any data in memory,
but rather provide only values
- Store virtual memory layout in OS_INFO. It is read out by
makedumpfile, crash and other tools
- Store virtual memory layout in VMCORE_INFO. It is read out by crash
and other tools when /proc/kcore device is used
- Create additional PT_LOAD ELF program header that covers kernel image
only, so that vmcore tools could locate kernel text and data when
virtual and physical memory spaces are uncoupled
- Uncouple physical and virtual address spaces
- Map kernel at fixed location when KASLR mode is disabled. The
location is defined by CONFIG_KERNEL_IMAGE_BASE kernel configuration
value.
- Rework deployment of kernel image for both compressed and
uncompressed variants as defined by CONFIG_KERNEL_UNCOMPRESSED kernel
configuration value
- Move .vmlinux.relocs section in front of the compressed kernel. The
interim section rescue step is avoided as result
- Correct modules thunk offset calculation when branch target is more
than 2GB away
- Kernel modules contain their own set of expoline thunks. Now that the
kernel modules area is less than 4GB away from kernel expoline
thunks, make modules use kernel expolines. Also make EXPOLINE_EXTERN
the default if the compiler supports it
- userfaultfd can insert shared zeropages into processes running VMs,
but that is not allowed for s390. Fallback to allocating a fresh
zeroed anonymous folio and insert that instead
- Re-enable shared zeropages for non-PV and non-skeys KVM guests
- Rename hex2bitmap() to ap_hex2bitmap() and export it for external use
- Add ap_config sysfs attribute to provide the means for setting or
displaying adapters, domains and control domains assigned to a
vfio-ap mediated device in a single operation
- Make vfio_ap_mdev_link_queue() ignore duplicate link requests
- Add write support to ap_config sysfs attribute to allow atomic update
a vfio-ap mediated device state
- Document ap_config sysfs attribute
- Function os_info_old_init() is expected to be called only from a
regular kdump kernel. Enable it to be called from a stand-alone dump
kernel
- Address gcc -Warray-bounds warning and fix array size in struct

- s390 does not support SMBIOS, so drop unneeded CONFIG_DMI checks
- Use unwinder instead of __builtin_return_address() with ftrace to
prevent returning of undefined values

- The function __storage_key_init_range() expects the end address to be
the first byte outside the range to be initialized. Fix the callers
that provide the last byte within the range instead.
- 3270 Channel Command Word (CCW) may contain zero data address in case
there is no data in the request. Add data availability check to avoid

in cases there is no data

When the hsuid attribute is set for the first time on an IQD Layer3

Analysis:
There is one napi structure per out_q: card->qdio.out_qs[i].napi
The napi.poll functions are set during qeth_open().
Since
commit 1cfef80d4c2b ("s390/qeth: Don't call dev_close/dev_open (DOWN/UP)")
qeth_set_offline()/qeth_set_online() no longer call dev_close()/
dev_open(). So if qeth_free_qdio_queues() cleared
card->qdio.out_qs[i].napi.poll while the network interface was UP and the
card was offline, they are not set again.
Reproduction:

Note that a Completion Queue (CQ) is only enabled or disabled, when hsuid
is set for the first time or when it is removed.
Workarounds:
- Set hsuid before setting the device online for the first time
or
- Use chzdev -d $devno; chzdev $devno hsuid=xxx; chzdev -e $devno;
to set hsuid on an existing device. (this will remove and recreate the
network interface)
Fix:
There is no need to free the output queues when a completion queue is
added or removed.
card->qdio.state now indicates whether the inbound buffer pool and the
outbound queues are allocated.
card->qdio.c_q indicates whether a CQ is allocated.

An EP11 reply cprb contains a field ret_code which may
hold an error code different than the error code stored
in the payload of the cprb. As of now all the EP11 misc
functions do not evaluate this field but focus on the
error code in the payload.
Before checking the payload error, first the cprb error
field should be evaluated which is introduced with this
patch.
If the return code value 0x000c0003 is seen, this
indicates a busy situation which is reflected by
-EBUSY in the zcrpyt_ep11misc.c low level function.
A higher level caller should consider to retry after
waiting a dedicated duration (say 1 second).

Currently, we allocate a lbuf-sized kernel buffer and copy lbuf from
userspace to that buffer. Later, we use scanf on this buffer but we don't
ensure that the string is terminated inside the buffer, this can lead to
OOB read when using scanf. Fix this issue by using memdup_user_nul instead.

Since commit 1b2ac5a6d61f ("s390/3270: use new address translation
helpers") rq->buffer is passed unconditionally to virt_to_dma32().
The 3270 driver allocates requests without buffer, so the value passed
to virt_to_dma32 might be NULL. Check for NULL before assigning.

Allow writing a complete set of masks to ap_config. Doing so will
cause the vfio-ap driver to replace the vfio-ap mediated device's
matrix masks with the given set of masks. If the given state cannot
be set, then no changes are made to the vfio-ap mediated device.
The format of the data written to ap_config is as follows:
{amask},{dmask},{cmask}\n
\n is a newline character.
amask, dmask, and cmask are masks identifying which adapters, domains,
and control domains should be assigned to the mediated device.
The format of a mask is as follows:
0xNN..NN
Where NN..NN is 64 hexadecimal characters representing a 256-bit value.
The leftmost (highest order) bit represents adapter/domain 0.
For an example set of masks that represent your mdev's current
configuration, simply cat ap_config.
This attribute is intended to be used by an mdevctl callout script
supporting the mdev type vfio_ap-passthrough to atomically update a
vfio-ap mediated device's state.

Add ap_config sysfs attribute. This will provide the means for
setting or displaying the adapters, domains and control domains assigned
to the vfio-ap mediated device in a single operation. This sysfs
attribute is comprised of three masks: One for adapters, one for domains,
and one for control domains.
This attribute is intended to be used by mdevctl to query a vfio-ap
mediated device's state.

Since [1], dma_alloc_coherent() does not accept requests for GFP_COMP
anymore, even on archs that may be able to fulfill this. Functionality that
relied on the receive buffer being a compound page broke at that point:
The SMC-D protocol, that utilizes the ism device driver, passes receive
buffers to the splice processor in a struct splice_pipe_desc with a
single entry list of struct pages. As the buffer is no longer a compound
page, the splice processor now rejects requests to handle more than a
page worth of data.
Replace dma_alloc_coherent() and allocate a buffer with folio_alloc and
create a DMA map for it with dma_map_page(). Since only receive buffers
on ISM devices use DMA, qualify the mapping as FROM_DEVICE.
Since ISM devices are available on arch s390, only, and on that arch all
DMA is coherent, there is no need to introduce and export some kind of
dma_sync_to_cpu() method to be called by the SMC-D protocol layer.
Analogously, replace dma_free_coherent by a two step dma_unmap_page,
then folio_put to free the receive buffer.

A race condition exists in ccw_device_set_online() that can cause the
online process to fail, leaving the affected device in an inconsistent
state. As a result, subsequent attempts to set that device online fail
with return code ENODEV.
The problem occurs when a path verification request arrives after
a wait for final device state completed, but before the result state
is evaluated.
Fix this by ensuring that the CCW-device lock is held between
determining final state and checking result state.
Note that since:
commit 2297791c92d0 ("s390/cio: dont unregister subchannel from child-drivers")
path verification requests are much more likely to occur during boot,
resulting in an increased chance of this race condition occurring.

A deferred condition code 1 response indicates that I/O was not started
and should be retried. The current QDIO implementation handles a cc1
response as I/O error, resulting in a failed QDIO setup. This can happen
for example when a path verification request arrives at the same time
as QDIO setup I/O is started.
Fix this by retrying the QDIO setup I/O when a cc1 response is received.
Note that since
commit 2297791c92d0 ("s390/cio: dont unregister subchannel from child-drivers")
commit 5ef1dc40ffa6 ("s390/cio: fix invalid -EBUSY on ccw_device_start")
deferred cc1 responses are much more likely to occur. See the commit
message of the latter for more background information.

The subchannel-type field "st" of s390_cio_stsch and s390_cio_msch
tracepoints is incorrectly filled with the subchannel-enabled SCHIB
value "ena". Fix this by assigning the correct value.

Add a per-CHPID sysfs attribute named "speed_bps" that provides the
operating speed of the associated channel path in bits per second,
or 0 if the operating speed is not available.
Example:

A channel-path's channel-measurement-group value (CMG) determines the
format of associated measurement data and characteristics blocks. Both
blocks are of fixed size and contain a generic and CMG-dependent part.
Currently CIO exports these data blocks via sysfs only for a specific
list of CMGs even though the kernel itself does not interpret
CMG-dependent data.
Change CIO to export measurement data and characteristics for all CMGs.
This enables supporting new CMG data formats in userspace without the
need for kernel changes.

Add a per-CHPID binary sysfs attribute named "ext_measurement" that
provides access to extended channel-path-measurement data for the
associated channel path.
Note that while not all channel-paths provide extended measurement data
this attribute is created unconditionally for all channel paths because
channel-path measurement capabilities might change during run-time.
Reading from the attribute will only return data for channel-paths that
support extended measurement data.

Convert channel-utilization-block (CUB) address variables from separate
named fields to arrays of addresses. Also simplify error handling and
introduce named constants. This is done in preparation of introducing
additional CUBs.
Note: With this change the __packed annotation of secm_area is required
to prevent an alignment hole that would otherwise occur due to the
switch from u32 to dma64_t.

Per filesystems/sysfs.rst, show() should only use sysfs_emit()
or sysfs_emit_at() when formatting the value to be returned to user space.
coccinelle complains that there are still a couple of functions that use
snprintf(). Convert them to sysfs_emit().
Generally, this patch is generated by
make coccicheck M=<path/to/file> MODE=patch \
COCCI=scripts/coccinelle/api/device_attr_show.cocci
No functional change intended.

The configuration option ZCRYPT_DEBUG is used only in ap queue code,
so rename it to AP_DEBUG. It also no longer depends on ZCRYPT but on
AP. While at it, also update the help text.

The direct dependency of chsc and the AP bus prevents the
modularization of ap bus. Introduce a notifier interface for AP
changes, which decouples the producer of the change events (chsc) from
the consumer (ap_bus).
Remove the ap_cfg_chg() interface and replace it with the notifier
invocation. The ap bus module registers a notification handler, which
triggers the AP bus scan.

Since qci is available on most of the current machines, move away from
the dynamic buffers for qci information and store it instead in a
statically defined buffer.
The new flags member in struct ap_config_info is now used as an
indicator, if qci is available in the system (at least one of these
bits is set).

The IO subsystem expects a driver to retry a ccw_device_start, when the
subsequent interrupt response block (irb) contains a deferred
condition code 1.
Symptoms before this commit:
On the read channel we always trigger the next read anyhow, so no
different behaviour here.
On the write channel we may experience timeout errors, because the
expected reply will never be received without the retry.
Other callers of qeth_send_control_data() may wrongly assume that the ccw
was successful, which may cause problems later.
Note that since
commit 2297791c92d0 ("s390/cio: dont unregister subchannel from child-drivers")
and
commit 5ef1dc40ffa6 ("s390/cio: fix invalid -EBUSY on ccw_device_start")
deferred CC1s are much more likely to occur. See the commit message of the
latter for more background information.

Pull more s390 updates from Heiko Carstens:
- Various virtual vs physical address usage fixes
- Add new bitwise types and helper functions and use them in s390
specific drivers and code to make it easier to find virtual vs
physical address usage bugs.
Right now virtual and physical addresses are identical for s390,
except for module, vmalloc, and similar areas. This will be changed,
hopefully with the next merge window, so that e.g. the kernel image
and modules will be located close to each other, allowing for direct
branches and also for some other simplifications.
As a prerequisite this requires to fix all misuses of virtual and
physical addresses. As it turned out people are so used to the
concept that virtual and physical addresses are the same, that new
bugs got added to code which was already fixed. In order to avoid
that even more code gets merged which adds such bugs add and use new
bitwise types, so that sparse can be used to find such usage bugs.
Most likely the new types can go away again after some time
- Provide a simple ARCH_HAS_DEBUG_VIRTUAL implementation
- Fix kprobe branch handling: if an out-of-line single stepped relative
branch instruction has a target address within a certain address area
in the entry code, the program check handler may incorrectly execute
cleanup code as if KVM code was executed, leading to crashes
- Fix reference counting of zcrypt card objects
- Various other small fixes and cleanups

- Ryan Roberts has added fork()-time PTE batching of THP ptes in the
series "mm/memory: optimize fork() with PTE-mapped THP". Mainly
targeted at arm64, this significantly speeds up fork() when the
process has a large number of pte-mapped folios.
- David Hildenbrand also gets in on the THP pte batching game in his
series "mm/memory: optimize unmap/zap with PTE-mapped THP". It
implements batching during munmap() and other pte teardown
situations. The microbenchmark improvements are nice.
- And in the series "Transparent Contiguous PTEs for User Mappings"
Ryan Roberts further utilizes arm's pte's contiguous bit ("contpte
mappings"). Kernel build times on arm64 improved nicely. Ryan's
series "Address some contpte nits" provides some followup work.
- In the series "mm/hugetlb: Restore the reservation" Breno Leitao has
fixed an obscure hugetlb race which was causing unnecessary page
faults. He has also added a reproducer under the selftest code.
- In the series "selftests/mm: Output cleanups for the compaction
test", Mark Brown did what the title claims.
- Kinsey Ho has added the series "mm/mglru: code cleanup and
refactoring".
- Even more zswap material from Nhat Pham. The series "fix and extend
zswap kselftests" does as claimed.
- In the series "Introduce cpu_dcache_is_aliasing() to fix DAX
regression" Mathieu Desnoyers has cleaned up and fixed rather a mess
in our handling of DAX on archiecctures which have virtually aliasing
data caches. The arm architecture is the main beneficiary.
- Lokesh Gidra's series "per-vma locks in userfaultfd" provides
dramatic improvements in worst-case mmap_lock hold times during
certain userfaultfd operations.
- Some page_owner enhancements and maintenance work from Oscar Salvador
in his series

- Uladzislau Rezki has contributed some vmalloc scalability
improvements in his series "Mitigate a vmap lock contention". It
realizes a 12x improvement for a certain microbenchmark.

crash out from kexec and clean up related config items".
- Some zsmalloc maintenance work from Chengming Zhou in the series

- Zi Yan has taught the MM to perform compaction on folios larger than
order=0. This a step along the path to implementaton of the merging
of large anonymous folios. The series is named "Enable >0 order folio

- Christoph Hellwig has done quite a lot of cleanup work in the
pagecache writeback code in his series "convert write_cache_pages()
to an iterator".
- Some modest hugetlb cleanups and speedups in Vishal Moola's series
"Handle hugetlb faults under the VMA lock".
- Zi Yan has changed the page splitting code so we can split huge pages
into sizes other than order-0 to better utilize large folios. The
series is named "Split a folio to any lower order folios".
- David Hildenbrand has contributed the series "mm: remove
total_mapcount()", a cleanup.
- Matthew Wilcox has sought to improve the performance of bulk memory
freeing in his series "Rearrange batched folio freeing".
- Gang Li's series "hugetlb: parallelize hugetlb page init on boot"
provides large improvements in bootup times on large machines which
are configured to use large numbers of hugetlb pages.
- Matthew Wilcox's series "PageFlags cleanups" does that.
- Qi Zheng's series "minor fixes and supplement for ptdesc" does that
also. S390 is affected.
- Cleanups to our pagemap utility functions from Peter Xu in his series

memory, so move the class3270 structure to be declared at build time
placing it into read-only memory, instead of having to be dynamically
allocated at boot time.

Instead of checking if rc is 0, check whether it is non-zero and return
early if so. The call to class_create() can fail, so add a check to it and
move it out of the mutex region.

memory, so move the vmlogrdr_class structure to be declared at build time
placing it into read-only memory, instead of having to be dynamically
allocated at boot time.

Since commit 43a7206b0963 ("driver core: class: make class_register() take
a const *"), the driver core allows for struct class to be in read-only
memory, so move the zcrypt_class structure to be declared at build time
placing it into read-only memory, instead of having to be dynamically
allocated at boot time.

Use virt_to_dma64() and friends to properly convert virtual to physical and
hysical to virtual addresses so that "make C=1" does not generate any

Fix virtual vs physical address confusion and use new dma types and helper
functions to allow for type checking. This does not fix a bug since virtual
and physical address spaces are currently the same.
