2014-10-14batman-adv: replace strnicmp with strncasecmpRasmus Villemoes
The kernel used to contain two functions for length-delimited, case-insensitive string comparison, strnicmp with correct semantics and a slightly buggy strncasecmp. The latter is the POSIX name, so strnicmp was renamed to strncasecmp, and strnicmp made into a wrapper for the new strncasecmp to avoid breaking existing users. To allow the compat wrapper strnicmp to be removed at some point in the future, and to avoid the extra indirection cost, do s/strnicmp/strncasecmp/g. 2014-01-08batman-adv: rename gw_deselect() to gw_reselect()Antonio Quartulli
The function batadv_gw_deselect() is actually not deselecting anything. It is just informing the GW code to perform a re-election procedure when possible. The current gateway is not being touched at all and therefore the name of this function is rather misleading. Rename it to batadv_gw_reselect() to batadv_gw_reselect() to make its behaviour easier to grasp. 2014-01-08batman-adv: remove FSF address from GPL disclaimerAntonio Quartulli
As suggested by checkpatch, remove all the references to the FSF address since the kernel already has one reference in its documentation. In this way it is easier to update it in case of future changes. Signed-off-by: Antonio Quartulli <antonio@meshcoding.com> Signed-off-by: Marek Lindner <mareklindner@neomailbox.ch>
2013-10-09batman-adv: tvlv - gateway download/upload bandwidth containerMarek Lindner
Prior to this patch batman-adv read the advertised uplink bandwidth from userspace and compressed this information into a single byte called "gateway class". Now the download & upload bandwidth information is sent as-is. No userspace change is necessary since the sysfs API always allowed to specify a bandwidth. 2012-06-25batman-adv: Prefix gateway_common local static functions with batadv_Sven Eckelmann
All non-static symbols of batman-adv were prefixed with batadv_ to avoid collisions with other symbols of the kernel. Other symbols of batman-adv should use the same prefix to keep the naming scheme consistent. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org>
2012-06-20batman-adv: Reformat multiline comments to consistent styleSven Eckelmann
batman-adv doesn't follow the style for multiline comments that David S. Miller prefers. All comments should be reformatted to follow this consistent style to make the code slightly more readable. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org>
2012-06-20batman-adv: Prefix gateway-common non-static functions with batadv_Sven Eckelmann
batman-adv can be compiled as part of the kernel instead of an module. In that case the linker will see all non-static symbols of batman-adv and all other non-static symbols of the kernel. This could lead to symbol collisions. A prefix for the batman-adv symbols that defines their private namespace avoids such a problem. 2011-11-20batman-adv: Replace obsolete strict_strto<foo> with kstrto<foo>Sven Eckelmann
strict_strto<foo> is obsolete since v3.1-rc8-8466-g14acc55 and should be replaced with kstrto<foo>. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org>
2011-06-20batman-adv: Reduce usage of charSven Eckelmann
char was used in different places to store information without really using the characteristics of that data type or by ignoring the fact that char has not a well defined signedness. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org>
2011-06-09batman-adv: Fix signedness problem in parse_gw_bandwidthSven Eckelmann

2011-05-30batman-adv: Only use int up and down gw representationSven Eckelmann
It is not save to provide memory for an int and then cast the pointer to it to long*. It is better to standardize the up and down gateway bandwith representation to simple ints and only use long inside conversation routines. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org>
