2024-10-28media: platform: drop vb2_ops_wait_prepare/finishHans Verkuil
Since commit 88785982a19d ("media: vb2: use lock if wait_prepare/finish are NULL") it is no longer needed to set the wait_prepare/finish vb2_ops callbacks as long as the lock field in vb2_queue is set. Since the vb2_ops_wait_prepare/finish callbacks already rely on that field, we can safely drop these callbacks. This simplifies the code and this is a step towards the goal of deleting these callbacks. 2024-10-12media: Switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all platform drivers below drivers/media to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. 2024-05-14media: bcm2835-unicam: Depend on COMMON_CLKLaurent Pinchart
The bcm2835-unicam driver calls the clk_set_min_rate() function, which is declared but not implemented on platforms that don't provide COMMON_CLK. This causes linkage failures with some configurations. Fix it by depending on COMMON_CLK. This only slightly restricts compilation testing, but not usage of the driver as all platforms on which the hardware can be found provide COMMON_CLK. 2024-05-10media: bcm2835-unicam: Do not replace IRQ retcode during probeRicardo Ribalda
platform_get_irq() cannot return the value 0. It will either return a non-zero irq or a errcode. If a errcode is returned, we need to populate the error code upwards. It will give a more accurate reason of why it failed to the caller, who might decide to retry later. 2024-05-10media: bcm2835-unicam: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant.
