After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.
Convert all platform drivers below drivers/net/wireless to use
.remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct
platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the
same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure
member name in the driver initializer.
En passant several whitespace changes are done to make indentation
consistent in the struct initializers.

In order to update the right link information, call the update
rate_control_rate_update() with the right link_sta, and then
pass that through to the driver's sta_rc_update() method. The
software rate control still doesn't support it, but that'll be
skipped by not having a rate control ref.
Since it now operates on a link sta, rename the driver method.

On full monitor HW the monitor destination rxdma ring does not have the
same descriptor format as in the "classical" mode. The full monitor
destination entries are of hal_sw_monitor_ring type and fetched using
ath11k_dp_full_mon_process_rx while the classical ones are of type
hal_reo_entrance_ring and fetched with ath11k_dp_rx_mon_dest_process.
Although both hal_sw_monitor_ring and hal_reo_entrance_ring are of same
size, the offset to useful info (such as sw_cookie, paddr, etc) are
different. Thus if ath11k_dp_rx_mon_dest_process gets called on full
monitor destination ring, invalid skb buffer id will be fetched from DMA
ring causing issues such as the following rcu_sched stall:

Currently, mem_ce and mem iomem addresses are used to calculate the
CE offset address. mem_ce is initialized with mem address, and for
targets where ce_remap is needed, mem_ce is remapped to a new address
space during AHB probe.
For targets such as WCN6750 in which CE address space is same as WCSS
address space (i.e. "ce_remap" hw_param is set to false), mem_ce and
mem iomem addresses are same. In the initial SRNG setup for such targets,
the CE offset address and hence CE register base addresses are
calculated correctly in ath11k_hal_srng_init() as both mem and mem_ce
are initialized with same iomem address.
Later, after the firmware download, mem is initialized with BAR address
received in qmi_wlanfw_device_info_resp_msg_v01 QMI message, while mem_ce
is not updated.
After initial setup success, during Subsystem Restart (SSR), as part
of reinitialization, ath11k_hal_srng_init() will be called again,
and CE offset address will be calculated incorrectly this time as mem_ce
address was not updated. Due to the incorrect CE offset address,
APPS accesses an invalid CE register address which leads to improper
behavior in firmware after SSR is triggered.
To fix the above issue, update mem_ce to mem iomem address in
ath11k_qmi_request_device_info() for targets which do not support
ce_remap feature.

On SC7280 platforms which are running with TrustZone, it is not
necessary to manually map the memory regions used by the wifi hardware.
However, ath11k will currently fail to load unless both memory regions
are specified.
This breaks wifi on the rb3gen2 which only specifies the firmware memory
region and does not use the CE region.
Adjust the order of operations in ath11k_ahb_fw_resources_init() to
check for the wifi-firmware subnode before attempting to parse the
memory regions.

WCN6750 firmware sends the log messages via WMI_DIAG_EVENTID only
when the host driver enables the same via QMI_WLANFW_WLAN_INI_REQ_V01
QMI message. This is further controlled via fw_wmi_diag_event.
Hence set this flag to true for the firmware to send the logs.
These logs are further collected in the user space through
the trace infrastructure.

Currently struct ath11k_hal::srng_config pointer is not assigned
to NULL after freeing the memory in ath11k_hal_srng_deinit().
This could lead to double free issue in a scenario where
ath11k_hal_srng_deinit() is invoked back to back.
In the current code, although the chances are very low, the above
said scenario could happen when hardware recovery has failed and
then there is another FW assert where ath11k_hal_srng_deinit() is
invoked once again as part of recovery.
Fix this by assigning the struct ath11k_hal::srng_config pointer
to NULL after freeing the memory.

Currently DFS works under assumption there could be only one channel
context in the hardware. Hence, drivers just calls the function
ieee80211_radar_detected() passing the hardware structure. However, with
MLO, this obviously will not work since number of channel contexts will be
more than one and hence drivers would need to pass the channel information
as well on which the radar is detected.
Also, when radar is detected in one of the links, other link's CAC should
not be cancelled.
Hence, in order to support DFS with MLO, do the following changes -
* Add channel context conf pointer as an argument to the function
ieee80211_radar_detected(). During MLO, drivers would have to pass on
which channel context conf radar is detected. Otherwise, drivers could
just pass NULL.
* ieee80211_radar_detected() will iterate over all channel contexts
present and
* if channel context conf is passed, only mark that as radar
detected
* if NULL is passed, then mark all channel contexts as radar
detected
* Then as usual, schedule the radar detected work.
* In the worker, go over all the contexts again and for all such context
which is marked with radar detected, cancel the ongoing CAC by calling
ieee80211_dfs_cac_cancel() and then notify cfg80211 via
cfg80211_radar_event().
* To cancel the CAC, pass the channel context as well where radar is
detected to ieee80211_dfs_cac_cancel(). This ensures that CAC is
canceled only on the links using the provided context, leaving other
links unaffected.
This would also help in scenarios where there is split phy 5 GHz radio,
which is capable of DFS channels in both lower and upper band. In this
case, simultaneous radars can be detected.

-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end was introduced in GCC-14, and we are
getting ready to enable it, globally.
Move the conflicting declaration to the end of the structure. Notice
that `struct ieee80211_chanctx_conf` is a flexible structure --a
structure that contains a flexible-array member.
Also, remove a couple of unused structures.

This reverts commit 166a490f59ac10340ee5330e51c15188ce2a7f8f.
There are several reports that this commit breaks system suspend on some specific
Lenovo platforms. Since there is no fix available, for now revert this commit
to make suspend work again on those platforms.

The issue scenario is, AP advertises power spectral density (PSD) values in its
transmit power envelope (TPE) IE and supports 160 MHz bandwidth in 6 GHz. When
connecting to this AP, in ath11k_mac_parse_tx_pwr_env(), the local variable
psd is true and then reg_tpc_info.num_pwr_levels is set to 8 due to 160 MHz
bandwidth. Note here ath11k fails to set reg_tpc_info.is_psd_power as TRUE due
to above commit. Then in ath11k_mac_fill_reg_tpc_info(), for each of the 8
power levels, for a PSD channel, ath11k_mac_get_psd_channel() is expected to
be called to get required information. However due to invalid
reg_tpc_info.is_psd_power, it is ath11k_mac_get_eirp_power() that gets called
and passed with pwr_lvl_idx as one of the arguments. Note this function
implicitly requires pwr_lvl_idx to be no more than 3. So when pwr_lvl_idx is
larger than that ath11k_mac_get_seg_freq() returns invalid center frequency,
with which as the input ieee80211_get_channel() returns NULL, then kernel
crashes due to NULL pointer dereference.
Fix it by setting reg_tpc_info.is_psd_power properly.

Kconfig will ask the user twice about power sequencing: once for the QCom
WCN power sequencing driver and then again for the PCI power control
driver using it.
Let's automate the selection of PCI_PWRCTL by introducing a new hidden
symbol: HAVE_PWRCTL which should be selected by all platforms that have
the need to include PCI power control code (right now: only ARCH_QCOM).
The pwrseq-based PCI pwrctl driver itself will then be selected by the
drivers binding to devices that may require external handling of the
power-up sequence (currently: ath11k and ath12k) based on the value
of HAVE_PWRCTL.
Make all PCI pwrctl Kconfig symbols hidden so that no questions are
asked during configuration.

Currently, the ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error array is defined with a
maximum size of DP_REO_DST_RING_MAX. However, the ath11k_dp_process_rx()
function access ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error using the REO
destination SRNG ring ID, which is incorrect. SRNG ring ID differ from
normal ring ID, and this usage leads to out-of-bounds array access. To fix
this issue, modify ath11k_dp_process_rx() to use the normal ring ID
directly instead of the SRNG ring ID to avoid out-of-bounds array access.

The reason is that ath11k_bcn_tx_status_event() will directly call might
sleep function ath11k_wmi_cmd_send() during RCU read-side critical

Commit 886433a98425 ("ath11k: add support for BSS color change") added the
ath11k_mac_bcn_tx_event(), commit 01e782c89108 ("ath11k: fix warning
of RCU usage for ath11k_mac_get_arvif_by_vdev_id()") added the RCU lock
to avoid warning but also introduced this BUG.
Use work queue to avoid directly calling ath11k_mac_bcn_tx_event()
during RCU critical sections. No need to worry about the deletion of vif
because cancel_work_sync() will drop the work if it doesn't start or
block vif deletion until the running work is done.

attached to ab_ahb->fw.dev in the same function.
Use iommu_paging_domain_alloc() to make it explicit.

to determine whether the hardware and firmware support db2dbm, if the
hardware and firmware support db2dbm, do not need to add noise floor,

Currently, the calculation of ack signal strength is incorrect.
This is because before calculating the ack signal strength, ath11k need
to determine whether the hardware and firmware support db2dbm. If the
hardware and firmware support db2dbm, do not need to add noise floor,
otherwise, need to add noise floor.
Besides, the value of ack_rssi passed by firmware to ath11k should be a
signed number, so change its type to s8.
After that, "iw wlan0 station dump" show the correct ack signal strength.

Currently for CCMP256, GCMP128 and GCMP256 ciphers, in ath11k_install_key()
IEEE80211_KEY_FLAG_GENERATE_IV_MGMT is not set. And in ath11k_mac_mgmt_tx_wmi()
a length of IEEE80211_CCMP_MIC_LEN is reserved for all ciphers.
This results in unexpected management frame drop in case either of above 3 ciphers
is used. The reason is, without IEEE80211_KEY_FLAG_GENERATE_IV_MGMT set, mac80211
will not generate CCMP/GCMP headers in frame for ath11k. Also MIC length reserved
is wrong. Such frame is dropped later by hardware:
ath11k_pci 0000:5a:00.0: mac tx mgmt frame, buf id 0
ath11k_pci 0000:5a:00.0: mgmt tx compl ev pdev_id 1, desc_id 0, status 1
From user point of view, we have observed very low throughput due to this issue:
action frames are all dropped so ADDBA response from DUT never reaches AP. AP
can not use aggregation thus throughput is low.
Fix this by setting IEEE80211_KEY_FLAG_GENERATE_IV_MGMT flag and by reserving proper
MIC length for those ciphers.

There is a confusing pattern in the kernel to use a variable named 'timeout' to
store the result of wait_event_timeout() causing patterns like:
timeout = wait_event_timeout(...)
if (!timeout) return -ETIMEDOUT;
with all kinds of permutations. Use 'time_left' as a variable to make the code
self explaining.
Fix to the proper variable type 'long' while here.

Current documentation on RCU in ath11k_mac_op_ipv6_changed() says:

This is wrong because without enabling CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT
rcu_read_lock() is not called by read_lock_bh(). The reason
why current code works even in a CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=n kernel
is because atomic_notifier_call_chain() already does that for
us, see:

Base address of CE ring is defined as u32, currently this works
because coherent DMA mask configured as 32 bit:
#define ATH11K_PCI_COHERENT_DMA_MASK 32
However this mask could be changed once firmware bugs are fixed
to fully support 36 bit DMA addressing. So to protect against any
future changes to the DMA mask, change the type of the fields that
are dependent upon it.
This is found during code review. Compile tested only.

The reason is, during resume, firmware is reinitialized but host does
not send current country code to firmware. So default reg rules with
country code set to 'na' is uploaded to host, as shown above.
Fix it by restoring country code to firmware during resume.

With commit bc8a0fac8677 ("wifi: mac80211: don't set bss_conf in parsing")
ath11k fails to connect to 6 GHz AP.
This is because currently ath11k checks AP's power type in
ath11k_mac_op_assign_vif_chanctx() which would be called in AUTH stage.
However with above commit power type is not available until ASSOC stage.
As a result power type check fails and therefore connection fails.
Fix this by moving power type check to ASSOC stage, also move regulatory
rules update there because it depends on power type.

WCN6750 firmware crashes because of num_vdevs changed from 4 to 17
in ath11k_init_wmi_config_qca6390() as the ab->hw_params.num_vdevs
is 17. This is caused by commit f019f4dff2e4 ("wifi: ath11k: support
2 station interfaces") which assigns ab->hw_params.num_vdevs directly
to config->num_vdevs in ath11k_init_wmi_config_qca6390(), therefore
WCN6750 firmware crashes as it can't support such a big num_vdevs.
Fix it by assign 3 to num_vdevs in hw_params for WCN6750 as 3 is
sufficient too.

Instead of passing the full TPE elements, in all their glory
and mixed up data formats for HE backward compatibility, parse
them fully into the right values, and pass that to the drivers.
Also introduce proper validation already in mac80211, so that
drivers don't need to do it, and parse the EHT portions.
The code now passes the values in the right order according to
the channel used by an interface, which could also be a subset
of the data advertised by the AP, if we couldn't connect with
the full bandwidth (for whatever reason.)
Also add kunit tests for the more complicated bits of it.

The chanctx can be shared, but it seems like the TPE values for
this vif should only reflect the channel that the vif uses, which
is captured in bss_conf->chanreq.oper rather than the chanctx.
Use that when calculating defaults, a similar issue is where the
data from the AP is processed, but I'm moving that to mac80211.

The define IEEE80211_MAX_NUM_PWR_LEVEL doesn't make much
sense. Yes, that table has a maximum value of 8, and the
table will actually remain that way, but EHT introduced
a way to encode more levels for 320 MHz channels.
Remove IEEE80211_MAX_NUM_PWR_LEVEL and, for ath11k being
the only user, add ATH11K_NUM_PWR_LEVELS, where it makes
sense since it cannot support 320 MHz channels.

With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it
saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the
assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper
value and does not need to be passed in again.
This means that with:
__string(field, mystring)
Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer
needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str()
will now only get a single parameter.
There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not
handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script:

I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those

I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both).

If one of the dummy allocation fails in ath11k_pcic_ext_irq_config(),
the previous allocated devices might leak due to returning without
deallocating the devices.
Instead of returning on the error path, deallocate all the previously
allocated net_devices and then return.

smatch flagged the following issue:
drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath11k/qmi.c:2401 ath11k_qmi_load_file_target_mem() error: uninitialized symbol 'ret'.
The reality is that 'ret' is initialized in every path through
ath11k_qmi_load_file_target_mem() except one, the case where the input
'len' is 0, and hence the "while (remaining)" loop is never entered.
But to make sure this case is also handled, add an initializer to the
declaration of 'ret'.
No functional changes, compile tested only.

If STATUS_BUFFER_DONE is not set for a monitor status ring entry,
we don't process the status ring until STATUS_BUFFER_DONE set
for that status ring entry.
During LMAC reset it may happen that hardware will not write
STATUS_BUFFER_DONE tlv in status buffer, in that case we end up
waiting for STATUS_BUFFER_DONE leading to backpressure on monitor
status ring.
To fix the issue, when HP (Head Pointer) + 1 entry is peeked and if DMA is not
done and if HP + 2 entry's DMA done is set, replenish HP + 1 entry and start
processing in next interrupt. If HP + 2 entry's DMA done is not set, poll onto
HP + 1 entry DMA done to be set.
Also, during monitor attach HP points to the end of the ring and TP (Tail
Pointer) points to the start of the ring. Using ath11k_hal_srng_src_peek() may
result in processing invalid buffer for the very first interrupt. Since, HW
starts writing buffer from TP.
To avoid this issue call ath11k_hal_srng_src_next_peek() instead of
calling ath11k_hal_srng_src_peek().
