Current struct hal_rx_ppdu_start in hal_rx.h is not matched with
hardware descriptor definition. This hardware descriptor definition
is determined by hardware. Host shall follow it.
So update struct hal_rx_ppdu_start and related code.
Both QCN9274 and WCN7850 need this modification.

Currently ath12k_mac_op_set_key() uses ahvif's deflink to set/cache keys
depending upon the availability of corresponding vdev. But with MLO the
incoming vif could have multiple links affiliated to it, hence use the link id
provided in the key info argument and apply/cache the key to the corresponding
link arvif. When the set key is a pairwise key intended for an ML station then
set the same key on all the affiliated link stations.
Also there could be multiple keys associates to a single link: group keys,
mgmt/beacon protection keys and so on. Current key caching design lacks support
for caching multiple keys for a given link cache. Add support to store a list
of all link keys in the ahvifs link cache as well as update, flush and free the
same whenever required.

Currently vif configuration cache pointers are placed in arvif and caching is
done whenever a link vif configuration is received before driver created vdev
for it (i.e. before channel is assigned), this is possible because current code
only uses default link (ahvif->deflink) which is preallocated.
With MLO changes the ieee80211_vif drv priv is now ahvif and its arvifs (struct
ath12k_link_vif) other than deflink can be allocated dynamically during channel
assignment. Hence maintain link level cache in ahvif and whenever channel is
assigned for link vif and vdev is created, flush the corresponding link vif
cache from ahvif.
Current code uses cache of ATH12K_DEFAULT_LINK_ID (0) which is the cache of
ahvif->deflink.

To prepare the driver for MLO support, split the driver sta data structure to
scale for multiple links. This requires changing the use of arsta to per link
and not per hw which can now comprise of multiple links. Also since most
configurations from mac80211 are done per link, do refactoring of the driver
functions to apply these configurations at link level.
Split struct ath12k_sta, which is the driver private of struct ieee80211_sta,
to store link specific information as struct ath12k_link_sta. For default use
cases struct ath12k_sta will have a preallocated link sta called deflink which
will be used by non ML STAs and the first link sta of ML STA.
With MLO support to be added, remaining link stas will allocated during state
change where new STA is added. These link stas will be freed when STA is
deleted.
Current ath12k_sta(arsta) structure:
+-----------------+ +----------------+
| | | |
| ieee80211_sta | | ieee80211_sta |
| private data | | private data |
| | | |
| ath12k_sta | | ath12k_sta |

|| vif of an ar || | | vif of an ar||
|| say 5GHz) || | | say 6GHz) ||
|+---------------+| | +-------------+|
+-----------------+ +----------------+
New struct ath12k_sta (ahsta) containing ath12k_link_sta(s) (arsta) (deflink is
preallocated member which is always the first link if ieee80211_sta is ML STA
and is the only link sta otherwise):

+---------------------------------------+
To refactor existing ath12k_sta to make use of link stas, following changes are
made:
1. Limit struct ieee80211_sta argument mac80211 ops unless otherwise really required.
2. struct ath12k_sta, now called by variable name arsta, stores multiple
arstas (struct ah12k_link_sta) and also has a back pointer to struct
ath12k_sta.
3. Pass struct ath12k_link_sta to mac functions that passed struct
ieee80211_sta argument and fetch struct ath12k_sta (ahsta) and struct
ieee80211_sta(sta) internally. This is done to avoid passing link id in all
the functions and performing validation across these functions. Rather the
validation and sta to arsta conversion can be done only at the mac80211 ops.
4. In this patchset, only ahsta->deflink is used to be on par with the
existing code. When MLO support is added the link id will be used to fetch the
arsta.
5. Change ath12k_sta_to_arsta() to ath12k_vif_to_ahsta() to fetch the
ML level sta. The link sta can be fetched from ahsta->link[], or the
deflink can be accessed via ahsta->deflink. API to access link
sta (arsta) by passing link_id can be introduced with MLO Support.
6. The ieee80211_sta can be accessed from ahsta using ath12k_ahsta_to_sta()

changes are made:

the arvif.
3. For mac80211 ops which doesn't use specific link_id, the config or info
is common for the vif, hence apply the config to all link vifs.
The links_map in the ahvif, will be used to identify all the link vifs that
are setup.
4. Change ath12k_vif_to_arvif() as ath12k_vif_to_ahvif() to fetch the

5. The ieee80211_vif can be accessed from ahvif using ath12k_ahvif_to_vif().
The locking continues to use wiphy_lock() for protecting access to most data in
struct ath12k&co, there are no changes in that regard. Though struct
ath12k_vif::link[] is protected with RCU.

In case of firmware assert snapshot of firmware memory is essential for
debugging. Add firmware coredump collection support for PCI bus.
Collect RDDM and firmware paging dumps from MHI and pack them in TLV
format and also pack various memory shared during QMI phase in separate
TLVs. Add necessary header and share the dumps to user space using dev
coredump framework. Coredump collection is disabled by default and can
be enabled using menuconfig. Dump collected for a radio is 55 MB
approximately.

Switch from using driver specific ar->conf_mutex to wiphy->mtx. The benefits are:
* one lock less and simplified locking
* possibility to use wiphy_work_queue() without other locks
Most of the mac80211 ops are called within wiphy_lock(), most notable exception
being tx op. This can be checked with lockdep_assert_wiphy() from
net/mac80211/driver-ops.[ch] and I veried that by manually going through all
the ops in ath12k_ops which had lockdep_assert_wiphy().
The conversion was simple:
* All conf_mutex lock() and unlock() calls which
already were called under wiphy_lock() I replaced with
lockdep_assert_wiphy().
* The rest of conf_mutex calls I replaced with wiphy_lock() and wiphy_unlock().
* All lockdep_asset_held(conf_mutex) calls I replaced with
lockdep_assert_wiphy().
One exception was in ath12k_core_post_reconfigure_recovery() where the wiphy
lock needs to be taken before hw_mutex to avoid a lockdep warning.

Move the conflicting declaration to the end of the structure. Notice
that `struct ieee80211_chanctx_conf` is a flexible structure --a
structure that contains a flexible-array member.
Also, remove an unused structure.

Implement net-detect feature by setting flag
WIPHY_WOWLAN_NET_DETECT if firmware supports this
feature. Driver sets the related PNO configuration
to firmware before entering WoW and firmware then
scans periodically and wakes up host if a specific

Note that firmware crashes if we enable it for both
P2P vdev and station vdev simultaneously because
firmware can only support one vdev at a time. Since
there is rare scenario for a P2P vdev to do net-detect,
skip it for P2P vdevs.

---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]---
The warning in question is from drv_stop():
if (WARN_ON(!local->started))
return;
The sequence of WARN_ON() is:
Thread 1:
-Firmware crash calls ath12k_core_reset().
-Call ieee80211_restart_hw() inside
ath12k_core_post_reconfigure_recovery() which schedules worker
for both hardware.
-Wait for completion of ab->recovery_start.
Thread 2 (worker thread):
-One hardware acquires rtnl_lock() inside ieee80211_restart_hw() and
calls ath12k_mac_wait_reconfigure() into ath12k_mac_op_start().
-Hardware is waiting for ab->reconfigure_complete but at this time
recovery_start_count value is 1 because another worker thread
(local->restart_work) is still waiting for rtnl_lock().
recovery_start_count is not equal to number of radios
(2 in split-phy). So ab->recovery_start complete does not set
due to this, thread 1 is still waiting and not able to perform
hif power down up and firmware reload.
-Wait timeout happens for ab->reconfigure_complete and comeback
to caller (ath12k_mac_op_start()) and sends WMI command to
crashed firmware and gets error.
-This returns error to drv_start() and local->started is set to false.
-Hardware calls cfg80211_shutdown_all_interfaces() after receiving error
inside ieee80211_restart_work() and goes to drv_stop(), here we trigger
WARN_ON as local->started is false.
To fix this issue call ieee80211_restart_hw() after firmware has been
reloaded. Now, each hardware can send WMI command to firmware
successfully. With this fix we don't need to wait for
ab->recovery_start completion so remove
ath12k_mac_wait_reconfigure().

Currently, hw_link_id is sent in WMI service ready event but it
is not parsed anywhere.
But, in future, for multi-link operation, this parameter would be
needed by many WMI commands such as WMI beacon template
(WMI_BCN_TMPL_CMDID), WMI vdev start for Multi-link virtual AP
interfaces (WMI_VDEV_START_REQUEST_CMDID), WMI peer assoc command
(WMI_PEER_ASSOC_CMDID) for Multi-link peer and so on.
Hence, add changes to parse and store the hw_link_id received in
WMI service ready event in ath12k_pdev structure.

Currently for ath12k PCI devices, firmware could be running in one of
several execution environments, e.g., PBL, SBL and mission mode etc. Among
which PBL is the only stage where PCIe link negotiation could happen. So
normally firmware runs in PBL in order to be enumerated during system reboot.
However it might not work in kernel crash scenario: ath12k target is not
found after warm reboot from kernel crash. This is because when kernel crashes,
ath12k host does nothing to firmware. And during warm reboot, WLAN power
is sustained. So firmware is likely to keep running in mission mode throughout
the bootup process. As a result PCIe link is not established and thus target
not enumerated.
So add a handler in panic notification list for ath12k. When kernel crashes,
this handler gets called and tries to reset target to PBL state. Then PCIe
link negotiation could happen and target gets enumerated.
This change applies to all PCI devices including WCN7850 and QCN9274.

Currently, hardware state is not protected across the reconfigure
operations. However, in single wiphy models, multiple radio/links is
exposed as a MAC hardware (ieee80211_hw) through the driver hardware
abstraction (ath12k_hw) layer. In such scenario, we need to protect
hardware state across the multiple radio/link at the driver hardware
abstraction (ath12k_hw) layer. Therefore, introduce a new mutex in

When AP goes down or too far away without indication to STA, beacon miss
will be detected. Then for WCN7850's firmware, it will use roam event
to send beacon miss to host.
If STA doesn't handle the beacon miss, will keep the fake connection
and unable to roam.
So add support for WCN7850 to trigger disconnection from AP when
receiving this event from firmware.
It has to be noted that beacon miss event notification for QCN9274
to be handled in a separate patch as it uses STA kickout WMI event
to notify beacon miss and the current STA kickout event is processed
as low_ack.

Now that all infrastructure is in place and ath12k is fixed to handle all the
corner cases, power down the ath12k firmware during suspend and power it back
up during resume.
For suspend, two conditions needs to be satisfied:
1. since MHI channel unprepare would be done in late suspend stage,
ath12k needs to get all QMI-dependent things done before that stage.
2. and because unprepare MHI channels requires a working MHI stack,
ath12k is not allowed to call mhi_power_down() until that finishes.
So the original suspend callback is separated into two parts: the first part
handles all QMI-dependent things in suspend callback; while the second part
powers down MHI in suspend_late callback. This is valid because kernel calls
ath12k's suspend callback before calling all suspend_late callbacks, making
the first condition satisfied. And because MHI devices are children of ath12k
device (ab->dev), kernel guarantees that ath12k's suspend_late callback is
called after QRTR's suspend_late callback, this satisfies the second condition.
Above analysis also applies to resume process. so the original resume
callback is separated into two parts: the first part powers up MHI stack
in resume_early callback, this guarantees MHI stack is working when
QRTR tries to prepare MHI channels (kernel calls QRTR's resume_early callback
after ath12k's resume_early callback, due to the child-father relationship);
the second part waits for the completion of restart, which would succeed
since MHI channels are ready for use by QMI.
Another notable change is in power down path, we tell mhi_power_down() to not
to destroy MHI devices, making it possible for QRTR to help unprepare/prepare
MHI channels, and finally get us rid of the potential probe-defer issue when
resume.
Also change related code due to interface changes.

With all the radios being combined and registered as a single
mac80211 hw/wiphy, separate regd built from firmware rules need
not be updated to cfg80211. Rather we can pick one of the regd
built from the rules to update to cfg80211 for the whole
registered device. We prefer 6 GHz pdev based rules since it has
the rules for all bands. If the hw doesn't support 6 GHz, then update
rules from one of the pdevs.
Also, when regulatory notification is received, update to all the
underlying radios/ar so that it becomes aware of the change and as
well us it updates its local regd with the new country rules. Later
pick the appropriate pdev's regd(6 GHz if available) and apply to
cfg80211.

Since any channel can be assigned to a vif being brought up,
the vdev cannot be created during add_interface(). Hence defer the
vdev creation till channel assignment.
If only one radio is part of the wiphy, then the existing logic
is maintained, i.e vdevs are created during add interface and
started during channel assignment. This ensures no functional changes

To enable single/multi link operation in the future, the following helper
functions need to be refactored to accommodate multiple radios under a
single MAC HW un/register:
* ath12k_ah_to_ar()
* ath12k_mac_hw_allocate()
* ath12k_mac_hw_register()
* ath12k_mac_hw_unregister()
This refactoring will make it easier to scale these functionalities and

- Inter-device SLO/MLO refers to links present across multiple devices
Currently, driver uses a boolean variable to represent intra-device SLO/MLO
capability. To accommodate inter-device SLO/MLO capabilities within the
same variable, modify the existing variable name and type. Define a new
enumeration for the link capabilities to accommodate both intra-device
and inter-device scenarios. Populate the enum based on the supported
capabilities.

To reduce power consumption enable 802.11 power save mode in
station mode. This allows both radio and CPU to sleep more.
Only enable the mode on WCN7850, other chips don't support it
for now.
To test that power save mode is running, run below command and
check there is no NULL Data frame seen by a sniffer:
iw dev <inf> set power_save off

QMI PHY capability learn is used to get PHY count information to
support single/multi link operation (SLO/MLO) configuration. The
QCN9274 dualmac firmware currently do not support SLO/MLO, if two
PHYs are within the same chip. Due to this firmware crashes in
split-phy QCN9274, while bringing up AP with MLO parameter enabled
in QMI host capability request message.
The QMI PHY capability learn is not required for split-phy QCN9274,
if SLO/MLO is not supported within the same chip. Hence, disable QMI
PHY capability learn support in split-phy QCN9274.

QCN9274 can support single-PHY or split-PHY architecture. Currently,
only the single-PHY architecture is supported in ath12k.
The split-PHY QCN9274 requires different AMSS firmware binary
"amss_dualmac.bin".
Hence, add support to read board id from OTP. Based on board id
decide whether single-mac / dual-mac firmware needs to be downloaded
to the target. Also, update HW param max_radios to support split-PHY
in QCN9274.
Also, add new Firmware IE for firmware_N.bin
"ATH11K_FW_IE_AMSS_DUALMAC_IMAGE" to support dualmac QCN9274.

With word mask subscription support, the rx_desc structure will
change. The fields in this structure rx_desc will be reduced to only
the required fields. To make word mask subscription changes compatible
with the older firmware version (firmware that does not support word
mask subscription), two different structures of rx_desc will be
required for the same hardware.
Most of the hal_ops are directly related to rx_desc.
Hence, split hal_ops into operations that are independent of rx_desc
(hal_ops) and the operations that are directly dependent on rx_desc
(hal_rx_ops). These hal_rx_ops depend on both hardware and firmware
hence move them out of hw_params.

In segment memory mode, firmware allocates memory segments of size
2 MB. This 2 MB memory is used by firmware for the number of peers.
This number of peer is sent from host to firmware during WMI init
command. For single-phy the number of peers sent is
TARGET_NUM_PEERS_SINGLE = 529 (512 + 17). While for split-phy number
of peers sent to firmware is TARGET_NUM_PEERS_DBS = 2 *(512 + 17) =
1058. With this 1058 number of peers firmware is unable to allocate
memory in 2 MB segment and firmware crash is observed.
Hence, fix this firmware crash by reducing the number of stations
TARGET_NUM_STATIONS for split-phy.

Firmware IE containers can dynamically provide various information
what firmware supports. Also it can embed more than one image so
updating firmware is easy, user just needs to update one file in
/lib/firmware/.
The firmware API 2 or higher will use the IE container format, the
current API 1 will not use the new format but it still is supported
for some time. Firmware API 2 files are named as firmware-2.bin
(which contains both amss.bin and m3.bin images) and API 1 files are
amss.bin and m3.bin.
Currently ath12k PCI driver provides firmware binary (amss.bin) path to
MHI driver, MHI driver reads firmware from filesystem and boots it. Add
provision to read firmware files from ath12k driver and provide the amss.bin
firmware data and size to MHI using a pointer.
Currently enum ath12k_fw_features is empty, the patches adding features will
add the flags.

Currently, the logic used to select the 6 GHz band is incorrect,
which may cause 6 GHz supported channels to not be updated properly.
This is because the 6 GHz Max frequency supported by the driver is
being compared to the Max frequency supported on the board. If in
some cases, the 6 GHz Max frequency supported on the board is less
than the defined 6 GHz Max frequency, all 6 GHz channels are disabled.
To address this, compare the max frequency supported by the board to
the defined 6 GHz Minimum frequency by the driver.
Similarly, when a dual mac card supports both 6 GHz and 5 GHz radios,
if the 5 GHz radio gets enumerated first before 6 GHz, the checks in
ath12k_mac_setup_channels_rates() can cause the 5 GHz channels which
were enabled earlier to get disabled when the 6 GHz channel list is
updated. This is because the Min 6 GHz frequency defined in the driver
is 5945 MHz, which should be 5925 MHz since channel 2 is not considered
currently, but the firmware can pass 5925 MHz as the minimum.
Hence, update the Min frequency supported by the driver to 5925 MHz.
In addition, ensure that the channel list update to firmware updates
only the channels that the current radio (ar) supports rather than
considering the wiphy support. This would be required when multiple pdevs
are supported in a wiphy and they support different ranges of frequencies
or bands as in single wiphy support.

To support multi link operation, we need to combine all the link/pdev
under a single wiphy. This avoids the overhead of synchronization
across multiple hardware instances in both the cfg80211 and mac80211
layers. Currently, each link/pdev is registered as separate wiphy,
tightly coupled with link/pdev/radio (ar) structure. To enable single
wiphy registration within the chip, we decouple the wiphy data entity from
the link/pdev/radio (ar) structure and move it under the chip (ab)
structure with a new data container (ath12k_hw) structure. This approach
improves scalability for future multi link operation support.
